The Ipswich Show has an amazing array of animals from cuddly Koalas, exotic snakes, fluffy chickens, gallant horses, playful pigs, noble llamas and so many more.

Animal Precinct

Take a stroll through the dedicated Animal Precinct and get close to a large variety of friendly animals. Say hello to everyone’s favourite Barry the Bull, spot the differences between a Llama and Alpaca, compare the size difference between a mini horse and powerful Clydesdales and see mini donkeys, giant rabbits, baby foals and cheeky pigs as they go about their day.

Resta Reptile Display

Get up-close-and-personal with your favourite reptiles and learn about a wide variety of different snakes.  PLUS, you can explore some of nature's most fascinating creatures right up close under the Microscope.

Wildlife Display

Get up close and personal, and interact, with wildlife! View Koalas lounging in their forks, birds flying around, and resting in the enclosure, Birds of Prey such as Barn, Barking and Boobook Owls, as well as non-venomous snakes, and lizards.  Plus, daily shows to teach you all about the importance of our Aussie Friends.

Animal Nursery

Home to cute and cuddly baby animals, the Animal Nursery is a family favourite.
A home to cuddly farm animals including lambs, goats, chickens, ducklings, and more. The kids (and the big kids) will love getting up close to feed, pat, and snap selfies with a range of farm animals. This popular attraction gives you the chance to interact with farm animals you don’t normally see.

Racing Piggies

Fun-filled enjoyment for all ages. From the bugle race call, through the obstacles, up the straight, to the last snout in the finishing trough, you will be cheering as cute piggies speed around the course to victory!

Sheep Shearing

Sheep Shearing is one of the most iconic activities in Australian agricultural history and local Sheep Shear Shane Cartwright will be showing off his skills each day in the Ipswich Show Historical Precinct.

Baby Chicks Nursery

Is there anything cuter than a baby chick?
Watch baby chicks hatch from their shells in a special incubator then cradle them in the palm of your hand.

Cavy Display and Competition

Cute, cuddly and squeaky and there are 36 different breeds. Most people know them as guinea pigs, but to breeders and enthusiasts they are a cavy!  Don’t miss your chance to see the many breeds and ask questions about owning guinea pigs. These chatty little creatures will be sure to melt your heart! On Saturday and Sunday proud owners will compete in competitions.

Poultry, Pigeon, and Waterfowl Pavilion

Nothing symbolizes the show more than the noise of the Poultry, Pigeon and Waterfowl Pavilion. Cages line the walls filled with the feather friends including exotic Silkies to the more familiar black Australorps to ducks and pigeons.

Horses

Witness exhilarating equestrian action in the Main Arena each day of the show.  Visitors will experience thrilling Equestrian competitions from different levels and disciplines across the equestrian spectrum including Harness events, Show jumping, Hacks, Thoroughbreds, Riding ponies and Working Horses.

Stud Cattle presented by RDW

Stud cattle are always a prominent feature at the Ipswich Show.  Magnificent, large frame Stud Cattle will be on show as they compete for the Grand Champion title. A Beef Young Paraders Competition will be conducted on Friday 17th May at 4:00 pm followed by the Young Judges Competition.  Saturday join in the fun as we host the Led/Heifer Competition, followed by all Stud Cattle, Pimp My Cow, and concludes with Young Judges.

Dairy Cattle presented by RDW

Come along and see what great body conformation and a well-hung udder are all about!
Dairy cattle (also called dairy cows) are cattle bred for the ability to produce large quantities of milk, from which dairy products are made. The Dairy Cattle competition will showcase a range of breeds, plus they are super cute.
