OUR VENUES
The Ipswich Showgrounds hosts a number of venues available for hire to accommodate small business meetings and clubs sessions to events and gala dinners for over 500 people.
We are excited to feature our on-site caterer, Terrace Functions for all catering needs and services. Terrace Functions can manage and cater for your next event or activity either in the Event Centre or the Function Room or the Reception Centre.
The Terrace – Function Room
The Terrace Function Room is part of the beautiful new event centre building with prime position under a festoon lit fig tree, with vast and expanding views of the city. The room boasts full glass doors that open to an extended terrace. The room is air-conditioned with AV facilities available, along with amenities, bar and catering options.

Capacity: 140 seated; 250 cocktail
Reception Centre
The Showplace Reception Centre offers a large open plan and expansive windows on both sides presenting a light and fresh feel to your function. This venue is reminiscent of a bygone era with a retro feel, however it offers the comfort of air conditioning and lighting options.
It boasts an adjoining grassed area (which is available for hire additionally) and the new outdoor deck for cocktails under the sunset.
This venue has a garden chapel situated on its entry for the convenience of a wedding ceremony and reception all in the one facility.

Events Centre – Main Pavilion and Breezeway
The Main Pavilion offers an expansive large space with capabilities for large dinners, music concerts and expos/events with seating capacity of over 500 people. The Pavilion features high ceilings and industrial sized fans that assist in air circulation and comfort. The Pavilion also hosts a stage with AV capabilities. The Breezeway connects to the Pavilion offering complete open yet undercover protection for red carpet entry. This venue is highly sort after to host major events including expos and trade shows. This area has hosted boxing tournaments, dog shows, antique fairs, model expos and gala dinners.
Catering packages are available through Boulevard Catering.
Committee Room
The Committee Room offers a board room style seating, with the capacity to arrange the tables into multiple settings. The room overlooks the Main Arena, with views across the city. With a small kitchenette, fridge, hot water/jugs, air conditioning, AV screen/projector and adjoining amenity room, this room is ideal for small meetings and group workshops.
An array of cutlery/plates are available as a part of the hire, however these items must be cleaned and returned at the end of the hire period.
Capacity: 20 seated with additional scattered seating – approximate 50m2 room size
